Last night Buddy had a very bad night. He pooped in the house three times. Then when we tried to get him up to get off the poop he was lying on, he couldn't move his back right leg. So John and I finally decided it's time to put him down. We will call on Monday to make the very sad appointment. He is the most perfect dog anyone could ever have wished for. He protected children, loved children petting him and was a great resort dog. He also was a great guard dog when I was a single mom. I will definitely miss him so we are going to give him lots of love this weekend.
There wasn't anything on the agenda today and since it is very overcast and rainy, I didn't want to do anything outside. So I did the usual - laundry. I got a bunch of the blankets and items out of the Cedar cabin (went outside a little bit) and now the cabin is finally empty of laundry. I worked on the laundry from that cabin all day.
In between loads of laundry I sewed on a Christmas present, baked a bread, cleaned off the dining room table (aka catch all), filed some paperwork, organized my office area, took some garbage and compost up, turned off the Alder cabin when they left, cleaned the kitchen and made the beds of Aspen, cleaned my kitchen stove, and pet Buddy every chance I got.
Around 5 p.m. I went upstairs from my sewing room and made dinner. Then John and I proceeded to read and watch television until it was time to go to bed. It was another exciting Saturday night at Pine Forest Lodge.
