We were going to Duluth today by noon so we worked frantically to get everything we needed finished before we left.
We spoke for awhile with Dave, who will be taking care of the resort before we leave. We explained what had to be done with the dogs, house, etc.
John did some paperwork. I checked e-mails and dressed in my new Packer jersey my son got me for my birthday, Matthews.
We fed the dogs, put them outside, and I took them for a little walk. I went up by the Balsam cabin with them. The view out the back was amazing with all the Tamaracks in full yellow splendor.
As John finished packing, I put his bags in the car. I made sure I had the tickets, the DVD's I had to return to the library and something to drink for the way. Boring I know and sorry about that.
We got up to Duluth in plenty of time to get a hotel, walk around for awhile, and eat dinner. We found the Clyde Ironworks about 5 minutes before they opened the doors. We waited in line and when they let us in, I was surprised at how small the room was. There was a balcony around the top of the room for overflow, but we all were seated on chairs, on cement, and a make-shift stage had been set up. It was all very casual and I noticed a lot of people wearing suspenders. That was funny.
We thoroughly enjoyed the show and it was a hour and half long. We were right in the front row and had great seats. Red Green was hilarious and we really enjoyed it.
We got back to our hotel early enough to go for a dip in the hot tub. Then we fell asleep early - before 10 p.m. We had to get up early the next morning. It was a really fun day.
