The picture is of my daughter's dog, Cinnamini. Isn't she cute?
I had to serve communion at church so I got up early. My daughter slept in as well as my mother-in-law, Denny. John woke up when I did but fell back asleep. So I got up, made my little cereal for breakfast and ironed a skirt. When I put it on, it was so full of static that it looked like I was wearing pants. So I then ironed a different skirt and tried that one on. It looked good but it was shorter and then I noticed my nylons had a bunch of little frays on the leg, but no runs. So it would have to do. It was going to be one of those days.
When I got back from church, I saw my daughter, Danielle, and my mother-in-law walking back down the driveway with the 4 dogs. Denny has a shepherd, we have a shepherd and a golden retriever and Danielle has a toy shitzu (spelling?). It was fun to see the little dog running circles around the older, huge dogs.
We visited for a little while and then Danielle helped me clean a cabin. It was like old times. She did such a thorough job, that I realized that our cleaners have been neglecting the cabins a little. I vowed to train them more thoroughly in the future. She pulled out the beds and swept under them, pulled out the rugs and swept under them, moved the dresser, cleaned the inside and outside of each window and sill and brushed the ceiling and walls. She is damn good. Her house must be spotless.
We finished in record time and then we got ready for the Packer Game. I made "breakfast" for lunch: steak, eggs, fried potatoes, pancakes and bacon. Then we sat and watched the game. It was a nail biter and I was very stressed. Finally they won and Danielle had to go. She packed up her dog, stuff and said good-bye. Our golden retriever was so sad to see her go that she wouldn't even pick her head up off the floor, which is very rare. She loves Danielle.
It was a very sunny day so I knew Danielle wouldn't have any trouble driving. I then put away some laundry while John and Denny watched the post game show. They are avid fans of football and they talked for over an hour and watched other games.
I spent the next hour quilting on a project that I still had to do from the quilting retreat. I finished it and thought it looked good. It was a project using trapunto, which is a technique I never had done before.
Later we all watched some television. It was a good day.
