77 of 365 of what it is like to run a resort

Wednesday, September 29, 2010.
Customers came into the lodge early. I had to help John with transporting kayaks, and getting some paperwork done.

Then I drove to Rhinelander to have lunch with my son. He had a doctor's appointment in that town and so he was able to meet me for lunch. After a long talk and lunch, he went home and I did some errands.

First I stopped at the fabric store to pick up some new fabric and see the new store. I have a lot of quilts to do if I'm going to have at least 1 in every cabin.

Then I went to Menards. I got some cleaning supplies with a rebate coupon. I saved $8 sending in that rebate.

Then I visited my mom who lives a little north of the Menards store. The picture is of one of her new goats. I think they are very cute. She said to not get attached to them though. They'll be supper in a few months. I pet them, pet the horses, and picked some vegetables. My mom and her husband have a large garden and they are very generous with their produce. I came home with enough tomatoes to give every customer a bunch of them. That was nice.

After I got home I delivered bags of produce to each cabin. Then I talked to customers in the lodge for awhile. We spent most of the evening with customers in the lodge.

John spent most of the day chopping wood for customers' wood boxes. We have 2 cabins that have rock fireplaces and its that time of year when they are used. He also worked on the piers for awhile too. The water keeps rising from the rain so he has to adjust them a lot.

It was a good day.
