My mother-in-law is supposed to be arriving today for the long weekend. She has been alone since her husband died on 8/10. She needed to see her son, my husband. So she is on her way.
I cleaned her bedroom, vacuumed the entire house, cleaned the main bathroom and did some laundry.
Then I cleaned Cedar. Customers arrive today for a few days too. The cleaning of the cabin went well. It was very cold outside and rainy. The heater was on in the cabin, thanks to John, so I was fine. That particular heater is difficult to turn on so he did it for me.
I was tired after cleaning the house and a cabin. When Denny arrived, I sat and visited with her for a hour or so. John was out kayaking with a customer and he got home before dark. He kayaked on the Plum Lake up to Aurora Lake by Sayner. A customer's wife had a craft class in Sayner and her husband didn't want to drive back here and then back there when she was finished. He decided that he would hang out in the Sayner area instead. So John got an idea that he would transport kayaks to Sayner for them and the guys kayaked while she was at the craft class. They said the river is normally not high enough on that part to kayak it. This year it sure is. They said they had to go through a culvert that was so tight, because the water is so high, that they had to lay down in the kayak to go through. All I could think of is spiders. John said he went through quite a few of them. Yuck!
I made a nice dinner for all three of us. I baked some chicken thighs, vegetables and biscuits. It was good and I used steak sauce on the chicken for the first time. It was so good baked with the sauce on, that I will definitely try that again.
We watched some college football and went to bed after we visited with some customers in the bar for a little while. It was a good day.
